OurStory

In the early 1900s, Guiseppe Giachinta and his wife, Antonina (Arrao) Giachinta, moved to Cold Spring, NY from Messina, Sicily to start a family. The Italian immigrant was an expert mason, and he would pass those skills on to a long line of leading Hudson Valley stoneworkers.

Guiseppe and Antonina had five children—two sons and three daughters. Their younger son Aurelio, also known as “Doc,” went on to have six children of his own, including the founders of Mid-Hudson Concrete Products, John and Joe Giachinta.

John and Joe founded Giachinta Bros Concrete Products in 1985, distributing/manufacturing a 1,250 gallon septic tank model in a modest start-up operation. Over the next 30 years, the brothers grew their customer base, masonry skills, and service offerings, expanding the business to include a broad range of custom and precast concrete products.

The brothers established Mid-Hudson Concrete Products in the early 1980s. Together, Joe and John would lead the family-owned and operated company to the forefront of the Hudson Valley precast concrete manufacturing industry.

The business remains family-owned today. Giachinta siblings John, Tommy, and Susan work alongside Joe’s daughter, Katie Cucchiarella, who now manages operations. The team is made up of 13 loyal employees. Many of them have been with the company since the beginning.
